Off to see the whales, hopefully, in Puerto Piramides. The locals told us it wasn't likely we'd see any but we decided to take our chances and go for the boat ride. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? Apparently we missed the whales by a few days. They all migrated south for the summer in search of colder water. We saw a few token sea lions. Our driver took us next to Punta Delgado to have a look at the amazingly massive elephant seals. Loads of fat, cute, content and molting elephant seals lined the seashore. Pictures will follow.
Tomorrow we'll fly to Buenos Aires and arrive in the early afternoon with plenty of time to have a taste of "the best" Argentine beef. A little like a junkie withouth hooch I feel the withdrawals from good, soul satisfying food. Mendoza, 5 days ago, was the last time I enjoyed eating. Trader Joe's Chinese Crackers, Susan's homemade ginger cookies, trail mix and Power Bars kept me afloat in El calafate and Peninsula Valdez. It's a good thing those penguins were so cute and the ice glaciers facinating enough to keep my mind off my stomache.
FACTOID: The amount of airplanes we're taking on this trip is so unbelieveable we decided to keep a log. Tomorrow will be our 11th day onthe road and our 11th flight.
